Wanderlust Foodies Wanderlust Foodies Say hello
Mumbai · a family of three

We travel to eat.
Then we cook it.

Girish, Vidya and Devansh. One car with an unreasonable boot, a kitchen that smells of whatever we ate last month, and a blog that has been going since 2013.

Writing it all down
The short version

A portal for your wanderlust — and your kitchen.

We are passionate about exploring new places and eating our way through them. The best way to understand a culture is through its cuisine — every destination has taught us something about flavour, technique and tradition that we could not have read anywhere.

So the blog does both. Travel stories written honestly, including the parts that hurt, and recipes written the way we actually cook them at home — not the way they photograph best. Every recipe comes with a story; every destination with a memory worth sharing.

Who is in the car

The three of us

Girish in the snow at Brahmatal

Girish

Driver · writer · reluctant trekker

Plans the routes, writes the long ones, and wrote a whole book about being dragged up Har Ki Dun. Brahmatal, Kedarnath and Sandakphu followed anyway.

Vidya above the Dubai skyline

Vidya

The kitchen · the recipes

Works out how they made it, then makes it better at home. Every bhakri, muramba and tawa fry on this site starts on her stove.

Devansh holding a falcon in the Dubai desert

Devansh

Chief itinerary officer

Planned the entire Dubai birthday trip himself, and it was a better itinerary than either of us would have written.

How we do it

Four rules we keep breaking

01

Drive if you can

The good stuff is between the places, not at them. Three states in one car beats any flight.

02

Eat where the queue is

Local, busy, unglamorous. Then ask what is in it, and try it again at home.

03

Say yes to the trek

Regret it thoroughly, halfway up. Book the next one within the month.

04

Write it honestly

Including the bucket bath, the wrong turns, and the meals that were not worth the detour.

Tell us where to go next

Route suggestions, a recipe you want us to attempt, or a question about a trek — WhatsApp is fastest, but all of these reach us.
